RARE 1972 N.S. GUSTIN #514 PASTA BOWL - Heritage Unicorn - Weed CA"A beautiful and increasingly hard-to-find piece of 1970s California pottery—this 1972 N.S. Gustin “Pasta” bowl represents a lesser-seen variation of a beloved kitchen classic.Unlike the widely produced “Spaghetti” version, this bowl features the word “Pasta,” a detail that reflects a more authentic appreciation for Italian culinary traditions and represent a very scarce production quantity. Each ingredient—tomatoes, garlic, mushrooms, and cheese—is hand-painted, giving the piece warmth, texture, and unmistakable vintage charm.In 1971, many American companies were still using "Spaghetti" as the default term; this bowl represents a more modern "Pasta" variant that produced in much smaller quantities. Currently, there are no active listings on major platforms like eBay or Etsy for an exact 1972 Los Angeles Potteries bowl embossed with the word "Pasta". Every available piece found in a wide search is the "Spaghetti" version."Pasta" version was a point of pride for us Weedites—it reflected a deeper connection to our Italian-American culinary traditions. This came from The Historic Lumber Town of Weed, CA. The largest Sawmill in the World at one time. Long Bell Lumber. Composed of nearly of us Italians. People came from the same regions. Many were Family or Friends from the Old County. No better place to grow up.Continuing the story for this stunning piece. May it be cherished by the next family. :)
