This book features authentic regional recipes compiled by the local Cajun cook known for his weekly cooking segments on WAFB-TV Channel 9 in Baton Rouge. It includes a massive collection of traditional dishes ranging from rich gumbos, stews, and jambalayas to classic "Lagniappe" desserts and unique local favorites like alligator sauce piquante, crawfish étouffée, and turtle soup. Beautifully illustrated throughout by renowned local artist Floyd Sonnier. Condition Note: Interior Writing: There is a wonderful handwritten recipe for "Etouffe" penned in ink on the inside front cover by a previous owner (Stella Dabaan, whose name is also written on the title page). No other interior writing or highlighting was found. Cover & Pages: This is a well-loved kitchen copy. The front and back covers show noticeable shelf wear, some light staining, water marking, and peeling at the edges (please see photos). Pages: The internal pages are fully intact and tightly bound by the original green plastic comb. There are a few light stains on the pages throughout from past kitchen use, which gives this vintage book excellent character and a true "authentic kitchen" feel!
