Rare Find Ladies Alsta Art Deco Style Watch. Vintage 1940s ladies Alsta watches are rare mechanical timepieces, often featuring 17-jewel manual-wind movements, gold or silver-tone cases, and delicate designs typical of the era. Founded in the mid-1940s, these Swiss-made,often American-imported, watches represent early, traditional, or dress-style designs before the brand became known for later.This exquisite Alsta vintage ladies tank watch is Swiss Made & features a stunning silver tone with a 5.5" Cuban link band. Elegant and timeless, it is powered by 17 jewels, making it a perfect accessory for any occasion.Alsta has been around producing high-quality products since WWII. But most people know the brand for it's famous part in the movie the original “Jaws” film from 1975, Richard Dreyfus portrays an enthusiastic oceanographer Matt Hooper. It was Hooper who immortalised the Alsta Superautomatic on the Speidel Mach 1 porthole bracelet.• Art Deco Style 1940s ladies tank watch• 12mm case (side to side) 23mm (top to bottom) Silver tone finish • 5.5" Cuban link band (this is probably an aftermarket band)• 17 jewel movement• Elegant and timeless designThere is some discoloration to back side of the band- the part going against the skin.The metal part going into the closure is a bit bent but holds the bracelet together due to a saftey catch. Case has some minor scratches, most could be buffed. The crystal is in very good condition. The Dial could use a slight cleaning but for age is in excellent condition. The watch runs & keeps time. Not sure the last time the watch was serviced, there are no service records. Size: Womens 5.5Condition: Pre-Owned Good
