Traditional Russian Khokhloma wooden spoons, a world-renowned style of Russian folk art characterized by its vivid flower patterns, and distinct gold, red, and black color palette. "Excellent" condition: No "alligatoring" (cracking of the lacquer), no wood chips at the tips, and vibrant, unfaded colors.Key CharacteristicsArt Style: Khokhloma is an esteemed peasant craft that originated over 300 years ago in forest villages near Nizhny Novgorod.Design Elements: The spoons typically feature curved, linear motifs including large and small flowers, red berries (often strawberries), serpentine grasses, and delicate leaves.Materials & Finish: These spoons are hand-carved from wood (frequently birch) and hand-painted with a protective lacquer finish that gives them a characteristic shine.Historical Context: Many similar vintage sets found online were produced in the former USSR during the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.
