This item is a vintage 1976 United States Bicentennial souvenir pendant/brooch featuring a transfer-print image of Emanuel Leutze's famous 1851 painting, Washington Crossing the Delaware.<br><br>Item Details<br>Artwork: Features General George Washington guiding his troops across the icy Delaware River during the American Revolutionary War<br><br>Era: Manufactured circa 1976 as a commemorative piece for the United States Bicentennial celebration.<br><br>Materials: Typically made with a gold-tone openwork filigree metal frame holding a central cabochon cameo insert. The cabochon itself is made from ceramic or molded lucite/acrylic.<br><br>Functionality: These pieces were dual-purpose, featuring both a pin back to be worn as a brooch and a top loop to allow it to be threaded onto a necklace chain.
