For sale is a vintage, heavy cast iron horse-drawn stagecoach toy. This Western Americana display piece spans approximately 12 inches in total length and features excellent structural integrity.Design & Components: The set consists of three interlocking parts: a dark charcoal/black painted carriage body, a vibrant red articulated iron hitch tongue, and a dual-horse galloping team. It features bright yellow spoked wheels. Included is the correct removable cast iron driver figurine clad in a blue shirt, red neckerchief, and black cowboy hat.Manufacturing & Age Indicators: The toy features traditional hardware-free assembly, relying strictly on early-style peened metal rivets to lock the two-piece molds of the horses together around the hitch pole rather than modern threaded screws. No maker's marks are present on the casting. The thick, pebbled "orange peel" paint application on the horses suggests this is a beautifully executed mid-20th-century reproduction (circa 1950s–1970s) mimicking early 1900s antique patterns.Condition: The toy retains what appears to be its original, hand-painted finish with age-appropriate surface patina, light wear, and minor paint chips.Please Note: There is one small chunk broken out of the small black guide caster wheel located under the horses. While this visual blemish restricts its rolling movement, the toy remains structurally sound and functions perfectly as a rustic western shelf-display piece.
