This is a museum‑quality antique Islamic ewer, dating to the late 18th–19th century, produced in the Indo‑Persian / Qajar tradition. The vessel is crafted from heavy brass/bronze and features full hand‑chased decoration, including a large circular medallion of Naskh calligraphy containing traditional blessing formulas (“al‑izz wa al‑barakah” / “al‑mulk lillah”).The long, curved snake‑head spout is a classic feature of high‑status ceremonial ewers from the Ottoman, Mughal, and Persian courts. The body, neck, and base are covered in deeply engraved floral and geometric motifs, executed entirely by hand with visible tool marks and natural age patina.This form appears in major museum collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Al‑Thani Collection, where similar ewers are attributed to Qajar Persia (1780–1925) and Indo‑Persian workshops.The ewer stands approximately 24 inches tall, giving it an impressive presence suitable for display.
