While they are globally famous for their highly decorated, celestial planet series and multi-colored paperweights, this piece is a rarer, early 1990s minimalist design.Add a striking piece of Pacific Northwest glassblowing history to your collection with this authentic, vintage 1991 Glass Eye Studio (GES) heart-shaped bud vase and paperweight.Founded in Seattle, Washington, in 1978, Glass Eye Studio is globally renowned for its exceptional handmade glass artistry. This specific piece showcases a rarer, minimalist aesthetic from the studio's early 1990s production era.Crafted using the sophisticated Italian sommerso (submerged) technique, a vibrant, rich cobalt blue glass heart core is seamlessly encased within a thick, heavy layer of crystal-clear glass. It functions beautifully as a dual-purpose accent piece: its substantial weight makes it a highly functional desk paperweight, while the smooth, polished opening at the crest transforms it into an elegant miniature bud or posy vase. The underside features a flat, polished base explicitly hand-etched with the verified signature: "Glass Eye Studio 1991Size: Unisex 2"Condition: Pre-OwnedExcellent Vintage Condition: No chips, cracks, or deep scratches. Clear glass has brilliant clarity and depth. The etched signature on the base is crisp and completely legible. As a handmade studio piece, minor micro-bubbles or faint surface wear on the bottom resting profile may be present, consistent with age and authentic production.
