This is a vintage 1955 Cardinal edition of "Lord Grizzly" by Frederick F. Manfred, originally published by McGraw-Hill in September 1954. This first printing from August 1955 features a dramatic cover illustration depicting a frontiersman's epic struggle and revenge. Based on the true story of Hugh Glass, a trapper, hunter, scout, and Indian killer from the 1820s, the novel recounts his survival after a vicious grizzly bear attack and a 200-mile crawl to safety following betrayal by his companions. Priced at 35 cents, this Pocket Books, Inc. paperback is in good condition for its age, with some wear on the cover and spine, making it a great find for collectors of classic adventure literature or fans of Western fiction.
