Description:An authentic late Edwardian era studio portrait capturing a classic "Madonna and Child" aesthetic, circa 1910-1914.Features:Subject: Beautifully composed image of a mother in a high-collared lace dress holding an infant.Medium: Silver gelatin developing-out print (DOP) with excellent tonal depth.Frame: Original period dark wood frame featuring a wide, linen-embossed paper mat and an inner gilded gesso "bead and reel" fillet trim.Dimensions: Total outer frame size is 8.75 x 10.75 inches; inner photo exposure is approximately 5x7 inches.Hardware: Includes original backing board, screw eyes, and braided hanging wire.Condition:Good antique condition. The photographic print is crisp with minor surface smudges and slight, natural silver mirroring consistent with age. The frame shows minor edge wear, light splintering at the corner joints, and authentic oxidation/patina on the gilded gesso trim.-These items are part of an estate from a collector and carpenter by trade (descended from other crafts-persons, mostly in Connecticut).
