Description:Authentic 1978 vintage US military-style 5-gallon metal fuel Jerry can.Features stamped markings including "G" for gasoline, "US" on the side panels, and "DOT-5L USMC 20-5-78" on the bottom and cap.Manufactured by the U.S. Metal Container Company in May 1978.Features the classic heavy-duty three-handle design and cam-lock style opening.Condition:Exterior shows typical vintage wear, surface rust, minor pitting, and paint degradation consistent with its age.Cam-lock cap is attached with its original retention chain; cap shows surface rust and the original rubber gasket is on the brittle side.Interior contains rust scale, pitting, and old fuel residues that will require mechanical and chemical cleaning before any functional use.Relatively good red paint intact despite age; clear lettering stamp on baseSold as-is.--These items are part of an estate from a collector and carpenter by trade (descended from other crafts-persons, mostly in Connecticut).
