Description:Up for sale is a genuine, vintage Western Electric 2500DMG Touch-Tone desk telephone in classic black. This heavy-duty analog phone has fascinating historical corporate provenance, originating directly from the offices of the historic newspaper, The Hartford Courant.Features & Specifications:Brand: AT&T / Western Electric (Stamped Bell System Property on the base)Model: 2500DMG (Features integrated modular jacks for easy cord swapping)Date Stamp Code: R91CT 03 (Refurbished/rematched by the Bell System network in March of 1991)Keypad: Standard 12-button push-button layout with a clear plastic number display windowHandset: Standard G3 handset with heavy-gauge coiled handset cordExtras: Features an original corporate emergency contact extension sticker from The Hartford Courant and a secondary 24-Hour GE Supply emergency service sticker beneath the cradle. The bottom includes an adjustable ringer volume dial.Condition:Aesthetic: Good vintage condition with light cosmetic wear from authentic newsroom/office use. The glossy black shell shows minor surface scuffs, dust in the crevices, and micro-scratches. The clear plastic plungers and paper number window are intact, showing light age-related yellowing. Some wear on the headset (ear piece rim). No cracks or major structural chips.Functional: The structural hardware, buttons, and cradle levers spring back nicely. The internal mechanisms have not been tested on a live analog or digital VoIP network line.Sold as-is.--These items are part of an estate from a collector and carpenter by trade (descended from other crafts-persons, mostly in Connecticut).
