This piece was purchased new in the mid-1960s (circa 1965–1966) directly from family friend and local legend, Donald Tinty, at the historic Tinty's Furniture store in downtown New Britain, Connecticut. According to meticulous original family history, Tinty’s specialized in sourcing these distinct, premium pottery lamps directly from mid-century California manufacturers.Design & Visuals:The lamp features a nostalgic, Victorian Revival / French Country design consisting of a glazed off-white ceramic water pitcher resting seamlessly inside a matching wide wash basin bowl. The pitcher is uniquely accented with an embossed, 3D relief mold of a grape cluster and grapevine leaves detailed in warm, earthy brown tones.Base & Support Construction:Base Type: Custom mid-century turned wood collar base with a warm maple/fruitwoodFeet Style: Elevated by four distinctive spherical solid wood ball feet (orb feet)Basin Treatment: The ceramic wash basin fits firmly on the wooden base Dimensions & Specifications:Total Height: Approx. 27.5 inches tall to the top of the finial structureMaximum Width (Basin Diameter): Approx. 13.5 inches wideWeight: Substantial and heavy at ca. 10 lbs 2 ozShade: Not included (ready for your choice of a classic drum or empire shade)Hardware & Authenticity Specs:Socket Type: Premium vintage brass turn-knob socket with original cardboard insulator lining intactSafety Certification: Features its original vintage silver Underwriters Laboratories (UL) foil certification sticker for a Portable Lamp, marked with issue code series No. 52516Hardware Condition: Includes original brass harp structure and solid brass central support rod showing a beautiful, authentic aged patinaCondition Report:This lamp is in stellar vintage condition, sourced from a single-family home that has been meticulously kept, smoke-free, and pet-free for 60 years. The glazed ceramic body retains its smooth, glossy finish without any major chips or structural cracking. The internal wiring and plug are the original 1960s components. As shown in the photos, the lamp still works perfectly (tested safely with a modern LED bulb), though rewiring is always standard recommendation for vintage electronics.Pickup Details:This is a large, delicate, and structurally unique vintage piece.
