This 476-page hardcover was published in 1947 by Simon and Schuster. Internal pages appear clean and unmarked; like new. There is no dustcover. The red hardcover has a stain on front with minor wear along edges and corners. The gold lettering on the spine is very good. This is an amazing book! This book is far better than the textbooks of today. More realistic, more truthful. It is American history 1776-1945 and was published in 1947. It is filled with hundreds of primary sourced paintings (in black and white), political cartoons and photographs. There are captions for each one, in addition to brief and clearly written history text. My dad had one of these books when I was growing up. I pored through it often as a child and teenager. He had degrees in History and Law, and I always trusted his judgement in non-fiction books.
