This premium SodaStream Penguin was launched from 2008-10 exclusively through William-Sonoma. This discontinued model is not sought after for its iconic avian silhouette, mechanical lever beak, and dual-tone matte black/stainless steel chassis.. The Penguin was one on the first models designed to carbonate water exclusively in glass carafes. The ribbed bottles reduce issues with plastic taste or leaching and provides a more attractive serving vessel for sparkling water. This listing includes: 1x SodaStream Penguin Carbonator Machine (Model CY-8001) 1x Authentic 23.7 oz SodaStream Glass Carafe (7-sided design) Cap is NOT included, though is not needed for carbonating (optional use for storing water.) PLEASE NOTE 1) The CO2 canister is NOT included in this sale. This model requires the classic blue-labeled 60L screw-in CO2 cylinders, available at many retailers or directly from the company. 2) Glass bottles for newer machines and plastic bottles are NOT compatible; legacy 23.7 bottles/caps are still available from SodaStream and reselling sites. Condition: Pre-owned device shows signs of use though functions properly (though perhaps not as new). Shows visible surface scratches, light countertop dirt, and scuff marks consistent with regular residential use. Housing and metal carafe chamber have no cracks or structural damage. Lever (beak) effectively operates CO2 release, while mechanism locks properly. The chamber maintains enough pressure to carbonate water, though it sounds like some air may be leaking. (See video to evaluate.) Shipping: Items are carefully packed. Upgraded shipping and insurance provided as feasible. Free Local Pick-up available in Jasper, Georgia and delivery possible (for small fee) to surrounding areas (Canton, Ball Ground, Woodstock, Kennesaw, etc.).
