Up for sale is a rare piece of American military and sports history: an original vintage program from the 1966 USDESEA (United States Dependents Schools European Area) Basketball Tournament.This historic tournament took place on February 24, 25, and 26, 1966, at the Vogelweh Post Gymnasium in Kaiserslautern, Germany.Historical Significance:This program captures a unique moment in Cold War history. 1966 marked the final year for American military schools in France. In March 1966, President Charles de Gaulle withdrew France from NATO’s military command, forcing the closure of these bases and schools shortly after this tournament took place.
