Very good pre-owned condition. No rips, tears or stains. No material tag but it feels like cotton fabric. See photos for more details. The banner is a memento from the Africa and International Friends Inaugural Ball: The Ancestors Dream Realized, a star-studded event held on January 20th, 2009, to celebrate the inauguration of President Barack Obama's Vision & Origins: Conceived as a festival of the cultures of the world. The idea for this particular ball reportedly originated from a suggestion by former South African President Nelson Mandela, who felt it fitting for Africa to play a major role in celebrating the first African American U.S. president. The ball was officially hosted by the Government of Kenya (the birthplace of Barack Obama’s father), the African Diplomatic Corps, the Embassy of Kenya, and the Corporate Council on Africa. It took place at the newly opened Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Prince George's County, Maryland, making it one of the largest and most prominent unofficial galas held outside of Washington, D.C. proper. It was a high-profile celebration featuring performances by Patti LaBelle, Usher, Aretha Franklin, Maxi Priest, and the Kenyan Boys Choir.Super fast shipping - we ship out the next business day.
