Very good pre-owned condition of book by Reinhart Kondert and a marked up copy of the Zaunbrecher Family Tree pamphlet. Book is very clean but pamphlet has pencil markings throughout with notations. See photos for more details. This listing features a 2-piece regional genealogy and history lot centered on the German-Catholic enclave of Acadiana: (1) A scarce, original 1988 first edition paperback copy of From Geilenkirchen to Acadia Parish: A History of the Germans of Roberts Cove, 1880–1987 by Reinhart Kondert, published by the Center for Louisiana Studies (ISBN: 0-940984-42-3). (2) A companion 1988 Edition of the Zaunbrecher Family Tree pamphlet, an intact 24 page staple bound document compiled by Rev. Charles Zaunbrecher. Together, this narrative history and primary source pedigree chart provide an account of the 13 original families who migrated from the Geilenkirchen-Heinsberg region of Germany to establish a farming community in Louisiana. This pairing represents an archival collection for family lineage researchers, Southern regional historians, and collectors of specialized Louisiana heritage books.
