ICE, also known as “Lafayette Afro Rock Band” was a funk/afro-rock band. Original release in 1973 on Prestige Records, the album has become a sought-after rarity in the funk and soul genres. Near Mint condition—showing almost no visible mistakes. Goldmine Standard. Pressing: Original 1973 Prestige (P-10075) first pressing. "dead wax etching"—Primary Matrix Codes · Side A: P-10075-A · Side B: P-10075-B-I Key Pressing Plant Identifier: "I”/ Indianapolis, pressed at the RCA Records Pressing Plant in Indianapolis, known for its high-quality, a common site for Prestige releases of that era. Genuine US pressing from the original mid-70s production. P-10075-A: originally there was B, which was scratched out and it was replaced with A, indicating a classic sign of a corrected master. in the vinyl world, this is known as a matrix correction. Here is what that tells us about this record. During the mastering process, the technician accidentally etched "B" on the side that was supposed to be "A." Realizing the mistake before the metal "stamper" was finished, they scratched out the "B" and etched the correct "A" right next to it. These corrections often happen at the very beginning of a production cycle. It confirms that this copy came from the original set of lacquer masters used for the first US release.
