A striking vintage Egyptian camel saddle — the real deal. Black lacquered wood frame with brass stud decoration, red leather padded seat with four leather-wrapped pommel posts, original twisted-leather lashing, and a hanging engraved brass bell. The underside reveals the original laced leather panel still intact. The frame is hinged/collapsible (see photos). A fantastic display piece, conversation starter, or functional footstool. WHAT'S INCLUDED Vintage Egyptian camel saddle / stool Red leather padded seat with four leather-capped pommel posts Black lacquered wood frame with brass stud decoration Original twisted leather lashing Hanging engraved brass bell CONDITION Used vintage condition — honest wear consistent with age. Red leather is intact but shows cracking and surface wear throughout. Stitching at edges has some separation. One wooden rail has a visible crack/split (see photos — structurally present but note for transparency). Brass studs are all present. Bell hangs and chimes. All four pommel posts intact. Underside lacing original and intact. SHIPPING Local pickup only — Vallejo, CA 94590. This item is large, heavy, and fragile — not suitable for standard parcel shipping. Contact to arrange pickup. ABOUT EGYPTIAN CAMEL SADDLES Traditional Egyptian camel saddles were functional riding equipment repurposed as decorative export pieces throughout the mid-20th century. Most examples brought to the West were acquired by tourists visiting Egypt in the 1950s–1970s. The distinctive double-lobed seat, brass nail ornamentation, and lacquered wood frame are hallmarks of Egyptian craftsmanship.
