Handwoven and socially conscious, this lovely scarf is made by the talented women artisans of La ComUnidad on the shores of Lake Atilan in Guatemala. 100% cotton Open-weave design Hand wash in cold water; lay flat to dry 72" L x 10" W (183 x 25.5 cm) Handmade in & fairly traded from Guatemala Over 70% of the rural population in Guatemala lives in poverty -- especially women. Guatemalan women have the lowest life expectancy and the highest maternal mortality rate in the region, and the worst economic activity rate in Central America. There have little or no opportunity to generate income and are generally unable to earn a living wage.
