<p>Historical 1935 Washington State Tax Token</p><br /><p>This is a genuine aluminum sales tax token from the state of Washington, issued under Chapter 180 of the 1935 Laws. </p><br /><p>These tokens were used during the Great Depression to allow citizens to pay the exact fractional sales tax on small purchases of 10 cents or less.</p><br /><br /><p>Details:</p><br /><p>Obverse: Features "TAX ON PURCHASE / 10 CENTS OR LESS / LAWS 1935" with "CH. 180" above the center hole.</p><br /><p>Reverse: Typically features "TAX COMMISSION / SALES TAX TOKEN / STATE OF WASHINGTON".</p><br /><p>Diameter: Approximately 7/8 inch (22.6mm).</p><br /><p>Condition: As pictured. This is a circulated vintage item with a natural patina from age.
