Authentic mid-century original enamel on copper painting by renowned American artist Max Karp (1916–1999). Known internationally as a pioneer of modern enameling techniques, Karp's work is highly collectible and famously featured in prominent private collections. This vibrant piece showcases Karp's signature subject matter: two figures (a child and a woman in a white dress and sunhat) in a beautifully rendered, colorful impressionistic landscape.The kiln-fired enamel-on-copper technique gives the artwork an incredibly smooth, glossy finish with brilliant, jewel-like colors that will never fade over time. It comes housed in a beautiful, heavy vintage ornate gold-finished frame that complements the artwork. Excellent vintage condition. The enamel surface is bright, smooth, and free of any chips, cracks, or deep scratches. The vintage gold frame shows minimal wear consistent with age and is structurally secure. Frame is 16 1/2" x 13 1/2". The actual painting is 12" x 9".
