Set of two vintage Japanese porcelain portrait miniature frame, styled in the elegant 18th-century French Louis XVI court aesthetic. They feature central portraits of aristocratic ladies encased by a wide porcelain mat. The white porcelain is beautifully decorated with soft pastel floral bouquets and detailed gold-gilt foliage overlay scrollwork. The entire piece is housed in a brass/gilt-metal filigree frame topped with a classic ribbon bow motif and protective glass. The reverse side retains its original period-accurate (1920s-1950s) textured backing material and heavy metal folding tabs. The back of the inner porcelain plaque is stamped "Made in Japan," dating this exquisite export piece to the mid-20th century. Excellent vintage condition! No chips or cracks. Each measures 5" wide x 5 3/4" tall x 1/2" deep.
