Exquisite example of mid-to-late 20th-century Romanian ceramic art. This elegant piece beautifully mirrors the time-honored openwork techniques popularized by legendary European porcelain houses like Herend, making it a spectacular addition to any fine porcelain collection or a romantic accent piece for your home. The body of the basket is constructed from actual strands of fine porcelain clay, meticulously hand-interwoven while still soft to create a structural lattice that perfectly mimics a classic wicker basket. Features delicate, applied porcelain floral accents nestled along the twisted gold upper rim, adding lovely texture and dimension. Excellent condition. No chips or cracks. Measures 4 " wide and 3 1/2" tall.
