Vintage Mid-Century Mystery/Drama Hardcover Duo Books Included: The Quarry by Mildred Walker (Harcourt, Brace and Company, ©1947) The House of the Seven Flies by Victor Canning (Mill/Morrow, ©1952) Visual & Aesthetic Highlights: This lot is a decorator's dream for a vintage-inspired bookshelf. Both books feature distinct "top-stain" dyed edges—vibrant orange/red on The Quarry and a classic pale yellow on The House of the Seven Flies. Condition Report (Sold As-Is): These books have been well-loved and show significant signs of age and wear. Please review the high-resolution photos carefully: The Quarry: The black textured boards show heavy shelf wear and fraying at the spine ends and corners. There is a vintage "star" mark and a price notation on the front endpaper. The text block is aged but tight. The House of the Seven Flies: The tan cloth boards show light soiling.
