Vintage 1978 Protivin, Iowa Centennial Commemorative 12 oz. Beer Can – "Protivin Centennial Pivo" Celebrate Northeast Iowa regional history with this vintage, original 1978 commemorative 12 oz. straight steel beer can. Issued for the Protivin Centennial celebration held on August 12–13, 1978, this can is a fantastic collectible for anyone tracking down rare small-town midwestern advertising or regional breweriana. One side features a bold red, white, and blue emblem reading "1878 Protivin Centennial Pivo 1978," honoring the area's strong Czech heritage ("Pivo" being the Czech word for beer). The reverse side features a beautifully detailed blue and white architectural sketch highlighting historic local landmarks: the Old School, the Old Church, and the Beseda Parish House.
