Vintage Ephemera Lot of 4 Items - Postcards & Booklet This estate-found collection features unique pieces of early 20th-century history, highlighting regional Midwest advertising, romantic ephemera, and a fascinating connection to Norwegian-American heritage with cards sent directly from Norway to Iowa. What is included in this lot: Antique Norwegian "Glædelig Jul" Christmas Postcard (Estimated c. 1905–1915) A heavily embossed gel-fresco style postcard featuring a charming illustration of a child in a winter sleigh surrounded by evergreen trees, with the greeting "Glædelig Jul" (Merry Christmas). The front surface features remaining silver tinsel accents. The reverse side features a beautifully penned, handwritten message in Norwegian addressed to Mrs. Ole H. Rahm in Decorah, Iowa, sent by Ivar Schaffeland. Antique Norwegian "God Jul" Nativity Postcard (Estimated c. 1910–1920) Features a beautiful, vivid illustration of the Nativity scene with Three Wise Men and a striking gold border. The reverse side includes a handwritten holiday greeting in Norwegian, also addressed to Mrs. Ole H. Rahm in Decorah, Iowa, and signed by Ivar Schaffeland. Vintage Omar Flour Window Display Postcard (Estimated c. 1942–1945) An incredibly crisp black-and-white real photo postcard depicting an elaborate grocery store window display stacked with sacks of "Enriched Omar Flour." Includes patriotic WWII-era banners reading "America Needs You Strong" and promotion for the "Omar Girl" contest. The back is unposted. Antique "Love's Declaration" Die-Cut Valentine Booklet (Estimated c. 1900–1910) A charming, small string-bound booklet with a scalloped, die-cut edge. The front cover features a beautiful portrait of a Victorian/Edwardian-era child framed by red hearts and vines. Inside, it opens to beautifully illustrated poetic verses ("As a river running seaward..."). The back cover shows a small potted topiary design labeled "The End." Condition Notes: These items are in authentic antique/vintage condition. Expect typical signs of age, including edge wear, corner bumps, and minor foxing/toning on the paper backs. The embossed sleigh postcard shows heavy crackling/crazing to the front surface gel coating, which is very common for gel-fresco cards of this era and adds to its authentic antique character.
