This is a striking pair of vintage ceramic Foo Dog (Chinese Guardian Lion) bookends or statues. They are finished in a rich, glossy burgundy/oxblood drip glaze that beautifully catches the light and highlights the intricate, ornate detailing of the figures. Each piece is molded onto a solid rectangular pedestal base. The bottom of one piece is stamped with "MADE IN JAPAN". This matched pair is perfect for adding an eclectic, MCM, Asian Regency, or Hollywood Regency flair to bookshelves, mantels, or entry tables.
