Brand: Pope Gosser China Pattern: Florence (Scalloped Edge) Period: Circa 1930s - 1940s Origin: Made in USA (Coshocton, Ohio) Item Details: This listing is for a 12-piece "shabby chic" lot of Pope Gosser China in the delicate Florence pattern. This pattern features a sweet blue and purple floral motif (Forget-Me-Nots) with an embossed scalloped rim and gold trim. Included in this lot: * (1) Large Rimmed Soup/Pasta Bowl * (11) Small Bread & Butter / Appetizer Plates (Approx. 7") Condition Report – Please Read Carefully: This set is being sold As-Is for display or replacement use: Factory "X" Marks: Several plates feature original, under-glaze factory "X" marks. These historical marks were used by the pottery house to identify "seconds" with minor manufacturing character (such as glaze pops or tiny kiln specks). Structural Issues: The large bowl has a significant darkened crack running from the rim to the center (see photos). One small plate has a visible hairline crack. Vintage Wear: Expect consistent crazing and "tea staining" (light brown discoloration) on several pieces, along with moderate "rubbing" or loss to the gold gilt rims. Collector Note: Despite the flaws, these pieces offer a beautiful antique aesthetic perfect for a farmhouse display, photography props, or for those who appreciate the history of American pottery manufacturing.
