This is a beautiful and rare antique semi-vitreous wash basin and pitcher set manufactured by the renowned Steubenville Pottery Company of Ohio.The set features a classic Victorian/Farmhouse aesthetic with an embossed scrolled rim and a detailed transferware pattern of sunflowers, wild daisies, and stalks of wheat.The basin has a scalloped edge and deep profile, while the pitcher features a graceful, high-arched handle and ornate spout. Both pieces are finished with a unique brown sponged or tinted effect along the rims and base, adding to their rustic charm. The bottom of the pitcher bears the authentic embossed "Steubenville" maker’s mark.While this set shows the character and wear of a century-old utilitarian item, it remains a stunning display piece for a vanity, sideboard, or farmhouse-style kitchen.In-Depth Condition ReportPlease review all photos carefully as they serve as the primary description of condition.Pitcher: There is a significant structural crack located at the spout (extending downward). It is currently stabilized with tape to prevent further separation. There is also dark mineral staining/residue visible in the interior bottom and some surface scuffing consistent with age.Basin: The basin exhibits heavy, uniform crazing throughout the glaze, which is typical for antique semi-vitreous pottery. There are some areas of discoloration/staining on the underside and near the rim.General: No large missing chunks or chips were noted on the basin.
