Add a touch of Mid-Century elegance to your table with this beautiful 3-piece silver-plated butter dish by Sheridan Silver Co. This vintage set features a highly ornate, embossed scroll and floral design along the rim of the tray and the base of the domed lid. It includes the original clear glass insert, which features a classic starburst (sunburst) pattern on the bottom to help keep your butter cool and stable. Features & Details: Brand: Sheridan Silver Co. (Taunton, MA) Markings: Stamped on the bottom with the Sheridan hallmark (Crown, Script "S", and Shield) and "SILVERPLATED." Construction: Heavy silver plate over base metal with a removable glass liner. Design: Ornate Victorian-style scrollwork with a decorative finial handle. Dimensions: Approximately 9" long (see photos with ruler for exact scale). Included: Silver-plated base tray, domed lid, and starburst glass insert Condition: This set is in very good vintage condition. The silver has a lovely luster with minimal pitting. There are some light surface scratches consistent with age and gentle use (primarily on the underside and interior of the tray). The glass insert is clean with no chips or cracks. It has not been aggressively polished to preserve the vintage patina, but it would shine up beautifully if desired.
