Description: Brand: Marwal Industries, Inc. Subject: Young Peasant Boy with Harvest Baskets Material: Chalkware (Plaster) Height: 20.5" Base Diameter: 6.5" Description: A stunning example of mid-century Marwal artistry, this large chalkware statue features a young boy in traditional peasant attire. He is depicted in a harvest theme, carrying a woven basket of fruit (grapes) on his shoulder and resting another large basket at his side. The piece is finished in Marwal’s signature antiqued sepia/cream wash, giving it a timeless, carved-stone appearance. Condition: This is an authentic vintage piece and shows signs of age typical for chalkware. Chips: There are several small chips/flea bites to the plaster, specifically on the rim of the standing basket, the boy's collar, the back of his shirt, and around the base (please see detailed photos). Markings: Clearly stamped "Marwal Ind. Inc." on the lower rear base. Structural Note: Solid and heavy with no major cracks or structural repairs.
