An exceptional and authentic 1972 signed C. Jeré "Labyrinth" wall sculpture measuring an impressive 53" × 27.5". This iconic Mid-Century Modern masterpiece is handcrafted from torch-patinated brass panels mounted on a geometric metal framework, creating dramatic depth, texture, and ever-changing light and shadow. Signed © C. Jeré '72, this sculpture was created during one of the most desirable periods in the company's history. C. Jeré is the artistic partnership of Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels, founders of Artisan House, established in California in 1963 with the vision of bringing gallery-quality handcrafted metal sculpture into the home. Their innovative designs became defining works of the Mid-Century Modern and Brutalist movements. This sculpture was produced in 1972, just before Freiler and Fels sold Artisan House in 1973, making it an original example from the company's founding era. Collectors especially value pieces from this period for their original California craftsmanship and artistic vision. Provenance: I purchased this sculpture directly from the son of the original owners, whose parents bought it new in 1972. It remained in their family's collection for more than five decades before becoming available, providing an exceptional and well-documented chain of ownership. One of the most desirable features of this piece is its versatility—it can be displayed either vertically or horizontally, allowing you to create a completely different visual impact.
