Beautiful, highly complete antique German Vienna regulator-style wall clock manufactured by the renowned Friedrich Mauthe factory in Schwenningen (FMS). This estate find dates to the late Victorian era and is an exceptional restoration project or display piece for any antique collector. Case & Visual Elements: The clock is housed in an elegant walnut case featuring classic historicist architectural elements, including fluted side pilasters and beautiful hand-carved leaf accents. Crucially, it retains its original matching detached top pediment crown piece, which rests perfectly atop the flat upper shelf to complete its traditional silhouette. The face features a beautiful two-piece porcelain dial ring with Roman numerals surrounding an ornate embossed brass foliate center disc. Hanging below is a stunning, highly detailed embossed brass pendulum bob depicting a romanticized Germanic folklore figural scene framed by traditional oak leaves and acorns. Mechanical Condition & Functionality: The solid brass mechanical movement features independent dual gear trains for timekeeping and hour/half-hour cathedral wire chimes. The rear movement plate is fully stamped with the authentic FMS circular logo, production serial number 91880, setup stamp 42/105, and the German Empire Patent marking (D.R.P. N. 55006). Timekeeping Side: Tested and working! The timekeeping side gear train is mechanically intact, catches perfectly, and the clock ticks and runs. Chime Side: The left-side chime mechanism is currently fully wound but does not trigger the chime/strike. The internal gears look visually clean and complete, but the chime train likely requires a standard cleaning and fresh clock oil to dissolve decades of old, sticky grease. Winding Key: The winding key is included and fits both arbors perfectly. Condition Note: The wood case and mechanical components are in fantastic cosmetic shape for their age. Because the clock has been sitting in an estate, it is being sold as-is for restoration or service to get the chime side operating smoothly. Please review the high-resolution photos carefully to evaluate the condition. CLOCK IS OLD AND WILL NEED NEW OIL. IT WILL TICK FOR 30 MIN AND STOP.!!!
