<p><b>Beautifully detailed greenstone Aztec calendar. The classifying term for this calendar is 'CUAUHXICALLI'(Eagle's bowl). It is also known as "Sun stone" as the monument w it was found was dedicated to this deity. The original, found in the main square(zocalo) of Mexico City in 1760, weighed 25 tons. It is now housed in the National Museum. It was originally carved during the reign of the 6th Aztec Monarch, Axatacatl. The listed piece was made by the famous Cuernavacan Mexican art objects manufacturer Zarebski,in operation since 1963. Size: 11 1/5 diameter. 3/4" depth could be off by a half of an inch. Very heavy.
