Vintage figural clear pressed-glass Scottish Terrier / Scottie dog candy container distributed by T.H. Stough Co., Jeannette, Pennsylvania.This example is especially nice because it retains the original paper ingredient label on the underside. The label reads in part:T.H. STOUGH CO. – Jeannette, Pa. – Patent Pendingand lists the original candy ingredients, including Spanish peanuts.The hollow dog-shaped glass body contains remnants/decorative material visible through the sides. These novelty glass containers were originally sold filled with candy and were often reused as decorative collectibles after the contents were gone. T.H. Stough is documented as a producer/distributor of vintage figural glass candy containers, including dog shapes.* Height: about 4 inches* Length: about 3.5 inches* Width: about 1.5–2 inchesCondition:Vintage/antique pre-owned condition. Original underside paper label remains attached and shows expected age-related discoloration and wear. Glass shows normal surface wear, molding seams and possible small manufacturing imperfections.
