Up for sale is an authentic pair of vintage 1958 Holt Howard "Cozy Kittens" ceramic salt and pepper shakers. Made in Japan, these iconic mid-century modern Siamese cats feature charming hand-painted details, big green eyes, and coordinating pink and blue polka-dot neck scarves.The blue-scarf kitten retains its original black-and-silver "HH Japan" foil manufacturer label on the back, and the underside features the official stamped "© 1958 Holt Howard" copyright hallmark.Condition Details:Ceramic Bodies: Good vintage condition. Both ceramic bodies are structurally sound with no cracks, outer chips, or structural repairs to the porcelain.Squeaker Detail: The internal metal squeaker mechanism on the pink-scarf kitten has detached inside (very common for these sets) and has been securely taped into the base cavity by a previous owner to prevent rattling. The mechanism is silent/non-functional.Stoppers: The blue-scarf kitten is missing its stopper; the pink-scarf kitten's cork stopper has fallen completely inside the body cavity.Aesthetics: The front faces and display bodies of both kittens look wonderful sitting upright on a shelf.A lovely, budget-friendly addition to any retro 1950s kitchen or Holt Howard collection!
