Title: Rare 1977 Vintage Scrimshaw-Style German Shepherd Portrait on Genuine Ostrich Eggshell – Signed "Milt '77"Description:Up for sale is a truly remarkable piece of mid-century folk art—a highly detailed, scrimshaw-style portrait of a German Shepherd etched directly onto a genuine, domed section of an authentic ostrich eggshell. The incredibly fine stippling and black line work capture the dog's expression beautifully, highlighted by the eggshell's natural, subtly pitted texture.The domed shell fragment is professionally shadowbox-mounted on a black burlap/canvas background, encased in a square wooden frame with a cream inner border and front glass protector. The piece is artist-signed and dated "Milt '77" on the lower left portion of the shell.Condition:Excellent vintage condition. The fragile ostrich eggshell is fully intact with no chips, cracks, or fractures to the etched portrait. The black detailing is dark and sharp. The frame and glass are structurally sound with very minimal cosmetic shelf wear to the outer wooden edges. Please see all photos to verify condition details.
