Up for sale is a stunning matching pair of vintage hand-carved Wood Spirit sculptures by folk artist Edward Lewis, dated 1998. Masterfully hand-carved from thick, rugged cottonwood tree bark, these high-relief pieces boast exceptional character details—one featuring a traditional frontiersman with a wide brim hat and the other a wizard or mystic figure with a deeply detailed beard and carved feather emblem.Both substantial wall hangings measure approximately 22 to 22.5 inches in length. The flat-planed backs feature built-in routed keyholes for secure, flush wall hanging. Both are clearly hand-signed and dated "Edward Lewis 1998" directly on the reverse. In excellent vintage condition with a gorgeous satin-gloss clear finish. An incredible addition to any cabin, lodge, or rustic folk art collection!
