authentic, highly collectible mid-century modern Scandinavian faience block vase designed by the legendary Stig Lindberg for Gustavsberg in Sweden.Produced between 1958 and 1962 as part of the iconic "Karneval" (Carnival) series, this piece features two distinct, whimsical hand-painted tin-glazed scenes. One side depicts three figures in a fishing vessel under a bird-filled mast, while the reverse side shows a stylized illustration of Eros (Cupid) flying above a yellow fish. The strict geometric block form beautifully contrasts with Lindberg's characteristically playful style.Artist/Designer: Stig Lindberg (1916–1982)Manufacturer: Gustavsberg, Sweden (Studio Line)Series / Shape Number: Karneval / Model 230 JMaterial: Tin-glazed faience earthenwareHeight: Exactly 8.25 inches (21 cm)Markings: Features the iconic blue Gustavsberg "G-Hand" studio mark, hand-painted shape numbers "230 J", a painter's mark, and retains its rare original round Gustavsberg Sweden paper label.Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
