Up for sale is a beautiful, curated vintage 1920s / 1930s Art Deco scrapbook. This album is uniquely compiled inside a rare antique Irving-Pitt Mfg. Co. No. 9108 'Student's Note Book' canvas-over-board binder (featuring patent dates from 1904 and 1906). Like the owner's other collections, a blue cat bookplate from a later caretaker dated 1985 is present inside. The interior pages are a goldmine of period ephemera, highlighted by spectacular, vibrant Art Deco graphic cutouts of stylish women interacting with mirrors and luxury interior settings. It also includes full-page color lithographs of classical portraits, fine art landscapes (such as 'Edge of the Woods' and 'An Old Garden'), and an expansive collection of clipped newspaper poems touching on themes of youth, old age, and nature.Condition: Good antique condition. The antique Irving-Pitt binder shows expected shelf rubbing, minor corner bumps, and edge wear but remains completely solid. The inner ring mechanism opens and closes properly. The vintage pages have a lovely natural cream patina with occasional edge chips, historic glue toning, and minor staining from age, but the graphics remain sharp and colorful. A premier addition for collectors of Art Deco graphics, vintage advertising art, or retro paper ephemera! Please see all photos for details.
