This late 19th-century card, dating from around the 1880s to 1890s, features a stunning color chromolithograph illustration of "The Redstart" bird perched amidst vibrant honeysuckle foliage.The reverse side of the card is completely intact and highly detailed. It includes a complete educational description of the redstart's natural habitat and behaviors, alongside a classic advertisement for Van Houten's Cocoa showcasing their famous vintage slogan, "Best and Goes Farthest."This card is in excellent antique condition for a paper item that is well over 130 years old. Crucially, the back is incredibly clean with no scrapbook residue, heavy glue stains, or paper tearing, which is very rare for cards from this era. The colors remain vibrant and the printed text is crisp, with only minor, natural age-appropriate wear along the corners and edges.
