Beautiful vintage Old Charter bourbon bottle in an unusual rich pink/amethyst glass. This striking bottle has a tall, heavily faceted Art Deco–inspired shape with OLD CHARTER embossed directly into the neck. The underside is embossed:FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALEOR RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLEalong with additional molded numbers and a diamond-shaped maker/mold mark.A little history: Old Charter is a historic Kentucky bourbon name dating to 1874, when brothers Adam and Ben Chapeze introduced the brand. According to the brand’s current owner, the name was inspired by Connecticut’s famous Charter Oak. Bernheim acquired the Old Charter brand in 1933, and it became part of Schenley Distillers in 1937. The federal anti-reuse wording on the bottom is particularly helpful for dating vintage liquor bottles. This wording began appearing following a federal requirement in 1935 and is most strongly associated with bottles produced from the mid-1930s through the 1960s. Approximate measurements: 9 1/2” tall × 3” across base.Bottle is empty and sold as a vintage collectible/decorative bottle. Please review all photographs for condition, surface wear and manufacturing characteristics consistent with age. No stopper/cap is included unless pictured.PHOTO NOTE: The close-up photograph of the bottom has been digitally enhanced for improved visibility and readability of the original embossed markings. The original, unenhanced photograph of the bottom is also included so buyers can see the actual markings and condition. This would be gorgeous displayed on a vintage bar cart, bourbon collection shelf, home bar or as colored-glass décor.Add a stopper to add design
