Beautiful vintage wall-mounted hurricane candle sconce featuring an ornate antique brass-tone metal frame and hand-blown clear glass chimney. The decorative metalwork includes a classic sunburst-style center, fluted detailing and an elongated turned finial for an elegant traditional look. The clear hurricane glass is especially lovely. It shows the subtle irregularities associated with hand-blown glass, including a gently uneven/wavy upper rim, giving the piece much more character than a modern machine-made shade. The irregular rim is part of the handmade nature of the glass and is not damage. The design is consistent with mid-20th-century Colonial Revival / traditional décor, when Early American and Victorian-inspired hurricane sconces became popular again. I would avoid calling it an actual Victorian-period piece unless we uncover a maker or other evidence dating it earlier.Details: Approx. 17” tall overall; glass chimney approx. 4” diameter; hand-blown clear glass hurricane shade; antiqued brass-tone metal; wall-mounted design; holds a taper candle. Vintage condition with age-appropriate patina and surface wear to the metal. Please review photos for condition and the handmade characteristics of the glass.
