First introduced in the mid-20th century, it was built as a durable, entry-level workhorse for bottom fishing and casting from boats, piers, and beachesKey features of the Penn No. 85 include: Materials: Bakelite corrosion-resistant side plates and a rust-resistant metal or reinforced plastic spool. Drag System: Often equipped with a multi-disc star drag to help control hard-fighting saltwater species. Capacity: Deep spool capable of holding roughly 400 yards of 20 lb monofilament, making it great for larger fish.
