Social History: Mailed from Gorham, New Hampshire, to Mrs. Joseph Baker in Upbridge, Massachusetts:"Friday—We came along this highway this morning and it was every bit as colorful as the picture. Wish you were here to enjoy it too. E"Scene: The "Kanc": Completed in 1959, the Kancamagus Highway is now a National Scenic Byway. This 1968 card captures the highway less than a decade after its full opening, during a time when it was becoming a premier destination for "leaf peepers."Era: Chrome (Post-1939)Size: Standard 3.5 x 5.5"Publisher: Bromley & Company, Boston, Mass, Color by Mike Roberts, Berkeley, Calif. 94710Condition: The corners and edges are quite sharp with minimal wear. The back shows very light age-related tanning and a small, faint smudge in the center, but is otherwise clean with a bold, legible postmark and handwriting.This is an authentic vintage item.
