Vintage Greek 50 Drachmai banknote issued in 1939, featuring intricate green designs, a philosopher's portrait, and historical details.<br><br>Issued under the reign of King George II, this series was one of the last standard circulation notes before the hyperinflation caused by the German occupation in 1941.<br><br>Serial Number: B 135 558338<br><br>Security Verified: Athena watermark when held to the light.<br><br>Front: Features a portrait of the ancient Greek poet Hesiod (8th century BC), often considered the "Father of Didactic Poetry." It also depicts a traditional Greek sailing boat and the White Tower.<br><br>Back: Displays a beautiful marble bas-relief from the Parthenon Frieze (East side), showing the Olympian gods Poseidon, Apollo, and Artemis in assembly.<br><br>Measures: Approximately 143 x 73 mm<br><br>Condition: Age toning, edge wear, creases, folding, small black ink stain.
