Issued on January 1, 1939, these 50 Drachmai banknotes were part of the final standard currency series before the Axis occupation and subsequent hyperinflation of the 1940s.<br><br>Serial Numbers: Z-099 131385 and Γ-126 405667<br><br>Security Verified: Watermarks of Athena's profile.<br><br>Front: Features the portrait of Hesiod, the famous ancient Greek poet known for his works Theogony and Works and Days. Also depicted is the White Tower of Thessaloniki, the iconic monument and museum on the waterfront of Greece's second-largest city.<br><br>Back: Scene from the Parthenon Frieze, depicting the Olympian gods Poseidon, Apollo, and Artemis.<br><br>Measures: Approximately 143 x 73 mm<br><br>Condition: Heavy Circulation with paper softening, foxing, creasing, folding, nicks, and tears.
