A lost landmark, The building pictured—alternatively known to generations of tourists as "The Pixie Shop"—was a beloved 16th-century thatched and slate-roof stone cottage. On August 16, 2004, a catastrophic flash flood swept through the Boscastle valley. This beautiful building took the full, direct brunt of the raging water and was completely destroyed.
